This Privacy Policy explains how LagoonIQ, LLC (“LagoonIQ,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the LagoonIQ website and software (the “Service”).

1. Information we collect

Account information you provide, such as your name, email address, store name, and password (stored only as a secure hash). Store data you enter, including your customers' names, addresses, contact details, and water-test records. Payment information, which is collected and processed by Stripe; we receive limited billing details (such as subscription status and the last four digits of a card) but not full card numbers. Usage and technical data, such as log data, device and browser information, and cookies needed to keep you signed in and operate the Service.

2. How we use information

To provide, secure, and improve the Service; to process subscriptions and payments; to send transactional messages such as password resets and account notices; to respond to support requests; and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

3. Service providers

We share information with vendors who process it on our behalf to run the Service, including Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Google Workspace and Resend (email), under agreements that require them to protect it. Your store data is hosted on infrastructure located in the United States.

4. Customer data and your responsibilities

When you enter information about your own customers, you act as the controller of that data and LagoonIQ acts as your processor. You are responsible for collecting and using that information lawfully, including providing any notices or obtaining any consents required in your jurisdiction.

5. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After account closure, we may retain data for a reasonable period to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, then delete or anonymize it.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing (for example under GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA). To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below; we will respond as required by applicable law.

8. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to authenticate you and operate the Service. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

9. Children

The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email, and the “last updated” date above will change.
